Our Ronald McDonald Houses

A Ronald McDonald House provides a place for families to call home while their sick child receives treatment in a hospital, enabling them to stay close at no cost. The House is a safe space that provides all the comforts of home, plus the compassion and hospitality of staff, volunteers, and other families all just steps away from the hospital. At each House, we work to alleviate the stress of daily living for families and enable them to focus on the health and well-being of their child. We have two locations: Providence and Boston Harbor

Boston Harbor

The Ronald McDonald House Boston Harbor is located in Charlestown, Massachusetts, and officially opened its doors in 2017. We currently offer 11 apartments: 10 for families and one dedicated community space where families can gather for meals, volunteer activities, and specialized programs at no cost. Our apartment-style accommodations provide a true “home away from home” environment, which is especially vital for families with children who may be immunocompromised.

Providence

The Ronald McDonald House Providence opened its doors on November 6, 1989, as a 12-bedroom House. It opened debt-free thanks to the incredible efforts of the community, including parents, city leaders, corporate partners, and members of the medical community. After several expansions to meet the growing demand for our services, Ronald McDonald House Providence completed its most significant expansion in 2016. The $5 million “Always Room at the House” campaign allowed us to add program space and increase our capacity to 28 bedrooms.
